This station is located in Rougemont, North Carolina, in the Red Mountain subdivision. Lat: N 36° 13' 39'' (36.228°), Lon: W 78° 54' 51'' (-78.914°), Elevation: 693 ft. The station is powered by a Vantage Pro 2C weather station. The Vantange Pro 2c weather station has been upgraded to a Vantage Pro 2C Plus by the addition of UV and Solar radiation sensors, and a fan aspirated radiation shield. The data is collected, and the site is updated, every 30 seconds. Data is processed using vproweather version 0.6 software as a base. This software has been modified to store the weather data in a mysql database. All uploaded and displayed data is retrieved from this database. Data is uploaded using modified Open2300 upload routines. All of the pages of this web site are Ajax Powered. When a NOAA notification is in effect, a colored bar containing the text describing the alert, will be shown at the top of the page, without the need to refresh the page. Ajax also allows data, picture, and graph updates without refreshing the pages. This software runs on the Linux Fedora 8 Operating System. The station is comprised of an anemometer, rain gauge, UV sensor, solar radiation sensor, and a fan aspirated, radiation shielded, thermo-hydro sensor. These sensors are situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible. The station also has an auto-iris Sony webcam which views Quarterhorse Run.
